Individual Championship

The Chester & District League Individual Championship is for current players of the Chester & District League, and is held on 1st and 2nd December 2018 at the Town Crier, City Road, Chester .

Entry Fees
Adults: £15.
Seniors (60+) and Juniors (aged under 16 on 1 Sept 2018) £12.50
Please note that non-members of the ECF or WCU are subject to a game fee of £8

The closing date is Thursday 29th November. Entries received after this date, including entries on the day, will be subject to a £2.00 surcharge.

Access to venue from 9:30am
Round 1: Saturday 9:45 am.
Round 2: Saturday 2:00 pm.
Round 3: Sunday 9:45 am.
Round 4: Sunday 2:00 pm.
Prize Giving Ceremony: Following completion of the last game on Sunday.

General Information
Sections: Open and U130. If the number of entries for either section is too low, then only an Open section will be organised.
Prizes: Cash prizes will be awarded to the first and second placed players in each section. There may be grading prize if there are sufficient entries to support this prize. The value of all cash prizes will depend on the number of entries and will be announced on the day.
Move Rate: 36 moves in 1 hour and 30 minutes, afterwhich 15 minutes will be added for the completion of your remaining moves.
Grading: The most recent English Chess Federation Grading List will be used. In the absence of a current E.C.F. grade, the Congress Director will estimate strength, based on other ratings lists and known past performances.
Tie Break:
In the event of a tie, a rapidplay game will be adopted, with White having 5 mins and Black having 4 mins. In the event of a draw, Black wins. Colours determined by toss of coin.
Refreshments: Drinks (Including tea/coffee) and meals will be available from the bar.
